HERB – CALM™ is a skillful combination of herbs designed to provide better health and to aid in the improvement of nervous disorders.  There are many conditions that contribute to nervous disorders.  Some of these are lack of proper diet, stress, lack of exercise, exposure to certain chemicals as well as organic disorders. Proper supplementation sometimes helps when these conditions exist.

HERB – CALM™ does not contain ingredients considered to be addictive

HERB – CALM™ contains Blue Pimpernel, Purple Betony, Balm, Black Cohosh, Peppermint, Passion Flower, Hops Flower, Valerian Root and Chamomile.

Now, let’s look at these ingredients in detail!

BLUE PIMPERNEL (Scutelluria lateriflora) is considered one of the best herbs to stimulate the nerves. It is as potent as quinine without the harmful side effects. It supplies nourishment for the nerves, both supporting and strengthening them while giving relief. It is considered a good remedy for the relief of cramps during the menstrual cycle.

PURPLE BETONY (Stachys officinalis) is an herb considered best for nervous headaches.  Also, it is considered safe for children with mild nervous disorders. Betony is reported to relax the whole system. One reason for its effectiveness is the magnesium it contains.

BALM (Melissa officinalis) is occasionally referred to as “Lemon Balm”. Balm has long been used for its soothing medicinal qualities.  It was first introduced as a medicine by an Arab physician named Auicenna in the 11th century. He said it served as a remedy for depression and anxiety. More recent studies have proven Balm to help in other areas such as menstrual cramps, insomnia, feverish colds, headaches and to calm nervous disorders.

BLACK COHOSH (Cimicifuga racemosa) has been a remedy long used by the American Indians.Black cohosh is a proven herb used as a relaxant, sedative and antispasmodic. Research suggests a clear pharmacological basis for its use in treating rheumatism and neuralgia.  Black cohosh contains natural estrogen, the female hormone, and is a good support during menstrual cycles.

CAUTIONARY NOTE: PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD NOT CONSUME LARGE AMOUNTS OF BLACK COHOSH.

PEPPERMINT (Mentha piperita) is widely used to relieve the gastric pains of dysentery, diarrhea and to stop vomiting. It is considered a good herb to calm heart palpitations. Peppermint is also considered especially good for the entire nervous system while simultaneously calming the digestive organs.

PASSION FLOWER (Passiflora incarnata) was discovered in the 16th century by Spanish explorers to the New World. The explorers were startled by the beauty of the exotic vine whose white and lavender flowers seemed to symbolize the elements of the crucifixion. This flamboyant plant they named “Passion Flower” was discovered to be used as a medicine by the native Indians. Today. Passion Flower is still used medically as a safe and sure sedative and is also praised as a pain killer.

HOPS FLOWER (Humulus lupulus) is a flower native to America. Historically, it was valued for its sedative powers and used by the American Indians as a remedy for toothaches.  Hops became a popular herb with most herbalists in the early 19th century and was used as a diuretic, a tonic and a sedative. Later, it was proven to possess these medicinal effects by pharmacologists. Hops is currently used in prescription drugs to obtain these same effects.

VALERIAN ROOT (Valeriana officinalis) is considered a strong nervine. It is said to contain oils and alkaloids which when combined together produce a sedative. It is well established as a natural tranquilizer that does not produce the common side effects of over the counter drugs. Valerian Root contains several essential minerals needed for healthy nerves
